Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. (‭‭Isaiah‬‭60:1-3 ‭NIV‬‬)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending Jesus Christ to this world to die on the cross for our sin. Christ died for us while we are still sinners to demonstrate the love of God for us. Although in this generation, the land is covered by darkness and nations live under darkness, the Lord Jesus is the light and whoever follows Him will not walk in the darkness but will live in the light. Thank you Lord for giving us life. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not believe in the Son of God does not have life but live in sin and darkness. You lead us out of darkness into light by your love and mercy. Your presence is like the morning sun shining its light on those who are in the dark valley of death. You guide our foot steps and lead us to the right path. You bless us and give us hope.

Our loving God, Hong Kong is a city where its people are striving for financial gains and success. The relationship among people is often based on self interests. The goal of life is the pursuit of money, honor, status, degree and self-satisfaction. Lord, You are our only fulfillment, You are the way, and the truth, and the life, and no one can come to the Father except through you. We pray for the development of education in Hong Kong and China. The reform and development of education in Hong Kong and China are often guided by students’ achievements. Students are recognized only by their score. Good grades equal good students. This has brought heavy pressure and burden on teachers and students.

Our loving God, bless the officials of the Education Bureau and the educators. Open their spiritual eyes so that they will carry out their responsibilities according to your will. Knowledge breeds arrogance and only love can build people up. Father, we pray that you will lead the development of education in Hong Kong and China and raise up more Christian educators to nurture a new generation with godly characters who will love God and love others and are willing to devote themselves to serve the society and the church and be a good witness for the Lord and light for the world in this age.

Lord, Your light has come and it has cast out the darkness of the world. In this last age, You light will manifest Your greater glory. Revive the children of this generation, revive every campus, let your salvation and blessings come to every child so that Christianity will become the trend on campus because only You has the power to set us free from the bondage of sin and to give us true freedom and abundant life.

Lord, Your work is done not by might nor by power but by your Spirit. We rely on You alone and apart from You we can not do anything. You are our strength, our song and also our salvation! Revive the life of the school principals and teachers, and may the sovereignty over education be returned back to You. Let every child be taught your ways and be brought back to You completely. Let every child receive salvation and follow the Lord all the days of their life. Let them be the Lord’s disciples and shine for the Lord.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen!
